PHYSICAL EDUCATION: K - 12TH GRADE

Physical wellbeing is a fundamental aspect to academic and personal success.

Our fitness and wellness program is uniquely designed to introduce students to a wide variety of activities that are fitness related, based on age specific needs with goals specifically geared for boys and girls. Our curriculum encourages students to pursue an active, healthy lifestyle through play, fitness activities and sports experiences. The goal is to instill enthusiasm and motivation for lifelong participation in physical activity.

In addition to teaching the particular skills and strategies for various sports, our PE curriculum provides character-shaping that focuses on positive self-esteem and the importance of cooperation and good sportsmanship. Group play and sports encourage emotional stability and maturity, and build an important feeling of “belonging.”  The ability to win or lose graciously, or to take pride in the success of others are added values learned through these activities.  Honesty, cooperation, teamwork, tolerance, and consideration for others are also fundamental principles that are developed in the physical education program.

All students have the potential to become physically educated, and our program will reach all students regardless of their talents, skills, or limitations.  Our program is oriented to the success of every student, and provides a non-threatening environment.

"We believe that a well planned physical education program can help children establish lifetime patterns of wholesome and rewarding physical activities, and can help students understand the relationship of exercise, diet, rest, and relaxation to all aspects of health."
